Advisory Board

The ULTimateCO2 Advisory Board (AB) includes representatives from NGO’s, Governmental Authorities, and CSLF members. The aim is to initiate dialogue with experts in the CO2 storage field, seek their advice and adapt our course accordingly.

Three AB meetings are scheduled during the course of the project, giving the opportunity to exchange on technical aspects, bring in an international view to our European perspective, ask advice on the dissemination of project results, etc.

Specific role

CSLF experts

Alberta Innovates, Canada

Petroleum Technology Research Centre, Canada

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA

Offer advice on specific domains to be developed in the current project:

  • well leakage assessment scenario developed in WP5 (Alberta Innovates)
  • advice and possibly data from the AQUISTORE project (PTRC)
  • characterisation of long-term evolution of physico-chemical trapping of the CO2 in WP2 (LBNL)

Dissemination stakeholders

(NGOs CCS initiatives)

Assistance in dissemination of the projects outcomes and confronting public acceptance issues

In addition to advice on dissemination, IEAGHG will also interact as expert by guiding ULTimateCO2 on technical aspects

National authorities in UK and France involved in CO2 storage regulations

UK: Office of Carbon Capture and Storage (OCCS) at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)

France: Directorate General for Energy and Climate (DGEC) at the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing

Advice on drawing up the guidelines and channeling these towards their end-use, i.e. input for future demonstration sites and improving CO2 storage regulations on the long-term aspects
